Auralen is a human operating system assessment platform created by Jonathan Love Pyles. Our website is located at auralen.one. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information.

When you use Auralen, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: Name, email address (provided during signup or via Google, GitHub, Twitch, or X OAuth login)
• Assessment answers: Your responses to the 25Q, 111Q, and AI conversational assessments
• Archetype data: Calculated scores, primary/secondary archetypes, shadow patterns, and growth arcs derived from your assessment
• Usage data: Time spent on the platform, emoji collection progress, interaction history
• Payment information: Processed securely by PayPal — we never see or store your credit card details
• AI conversation logs: Messages exchanged with the Auralen AI chatbot for report discussion

• To generate your archetype report and personalized insights
• To power AI conversations about your results
• To save your progress, emoji collection, and preferences across devices
• To enable community features (buddy connections, public directory, comparisons)
• To process payments for premium tiers
• To improve the assessment and platform experience

We never sell your data to third parties. We never use your data for advertising. We never share your assessment results without your explicit consent.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database hosting (your data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure)
• Vercel: Website hosting and deployment
• PayPal: Payment processing (we never handle your financial information directly)
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered conversations and assessment analysis
• Google, GitHub, Twitch, X: OAuth authentication (we only receive your name and email)

Your data is stored in a secure Supabase PostgreSQL database. Some data (preferences, emoji collection) is also cached in your browser's localStorage for faster access. Assessment answers are stored in your browser's sessionStorage and are cleared when you close the tab.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and role-based access controls.

Your profile is private by default. You can choose to make it public in your account settings, which allows other Auralen members to find you in the community directory. You can toggle this on or off at any time. You also control which parts of your report are visible to buddies through the Report Privacy settings.

You have the right to:

• Access all data we have about you
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Export your data in a readable format
• Control your profile visibility and what others can see
• Opt out of any community features

Auralen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
